Quote

Here's where we tell you about the crème de la crème of our latest discoveries.

Note:  Books go in and out of print all the time.  As a result prices and availability of books listed on earlier pages may have changed.

<< Previous Book Of The Month Page

Every single day 30,000 children around the world are dying from extreme poverty and Make Poverty History, a huge global campaign of over 400 charities, campaigns, trade unions, faith groups and celebrities worldwide united in the cause to end world poverty once and for all, has decided that 2005 is the year for this crisis to be taken in hand.

In the lead up to the G8 Summit in Scotland this July Make Poverty History campaigned heavily to influence the world leaders to finally do something about it.

The G8 chose not to do all that campaigners insist is necessary to free people trapped in the prison of poverty. Important steps have been taken - steps that will bring hope to millions.

Penguin published a new book, Make Poverty History, the official book of the campaign.  For every book sold Penguin will make a contribution of 25p to Make Poverty History.

This month Make Poverty History is our book of the month and we've included a selection of other books addressing poverty for your information.

Visit the official Make Poverty History website here.
