Our favourite for December 2003 was Blow In, A Personal View Of Life In West Cork by Nora Strong, hot off the press that month. Touching on country living, music, love, house, food & garden, life & death, and land & sea this endearing book is guaranteed to educate and entertain. Of course, we're biased as it's written by a friend of ours - but don't let that put you off! Though its main focus is neither Environmental, Health & Educational it raises many topics relevant to Book STEPs, makes excellent reading and is a perfect gift for anyone interested in Irish living. And 10% of all sales of this book go to the Appeal for Ethiopia. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Perfect, Practical Presents

Blow In €9.95
A personal view of life in West Cork
Nora Strong
A selection of articles from the 'Blow-in' column published weekly in the Southern Star. This is an eclectic collection of musings, from recipes to funerals, romance to compost.

Nora Strong was born in Scotland but lived in England most of her life until she moved to Ireland in 1995 with a husband, two dogs & an ancient car. Within a month they had fallen in love with West Cork & now live not far from Skibbereen.

She started writing for the Southern Star, the weekly newspaper based in Skibbereen, West Cork in July 2000. Her experience as a writer, until then, was as a technical writer but who knows what the future holds.

10% of all sales of this book go to the Appeal for Ethiopia.
